Oh what do you do in the Summertime

We've been loving this warm weather! It's been so nice and sunny these past several weeks. The kids have been outside playing in the sprinkler, eating popsicles, and playing with friends everyday after school.

This was just too cute. Jared had flipped our picnic table upside down while he was mowing the lawn. Who would have known that an upside picnic table could provide so much fun. I looked out back and all the kids were sitting like this.

Apparently, they were all in a space ship and every little toy or item had a function. The orange ball was to protect them from meteors, the dirt was the oil which was needed to run the space ship. The shovels and sand toys were their supplies. They had buckets for gasoline, garbage, and recycle. The red bucket and tube were their computer. It kept them entertained all evening. They even had a pet caterpillar (on Linsey's arm) named Buddy. Every time I checked on them, they had added more to their space ship, I just love their creativity.

Hope you are all enjoying nice weather too.

That's too cute! Are you all still in school? We've been out for 2 weeks now... I hope my kids imaginations will work that well ALL summer long!

Better yet, they don't mess up your house whent they are out there! Really though, that is such a perfect kid memory! Well done kids!

I've always been amazed by their imaginations. Now, if only their cleaning-up skills could match their level of creativity. :)

That is one of the most fun posts I have seen for awhile. Tell Linsey, I am so impressed that she would let a caterpillar crawl on her arm. I don't think any of my three boys would do that.

I love it when the kids just play outside for hours on end. Rylie and a few of her friends love to make umbrella forts and it will keep them busy for hours. Now, if I can just get Austin to do that (ha-ha).
