Any holiday is fun. St. Patricks' Day isn't a big one, but we still had fun with some gold coins and green goodies from a leprechaun, and my favorite, green pancakes and green milk for breakfast!
My kids were really hoping to catch a leprechaun this year. They spent all evening planning out what they deemed the most perfect traps, they thought of every detail. Even if they didn't catch one, they heard a rumor at school that sometimes leprechauns are lured to your trap and they leave behind a little treat.
This one has strings hanging and if a leprechaun were to trip on one as he was lured to the pretzels or comfy bed (I love the sign that says home is where the love is), the whole thing collapses trapping him inside.
Stairs, leading to a hanging piece of gold. Watch out for the trap door!
All throughout the day, little treats were found in the traps. Ohhh the excitement. Emma especially was really into it.
Close, but that leprechaun was lucky and always seemed to get away.
Maybe next year...

Love it! I remember when I was in 2nd grade I swore I saw him at recess in the grass. Wish I would have thought of building a cute house like that one, maybe I would have caught him. Now every year he plays tricks on my kids too for St. Patrick's day.
