Every year Jared likes to take the kids fishing at the Mill Pond lake just down the street from where we live. Many of you know that Jared has a passion for fishing, it's fun to watch as the excitement is passed on to our children.

There's nothing like the excitement of watching that bobber dip below the surface.

Start em' young!

Got one!

Linsey is our most daring when it comes to handling fish. I still remember the time she went on a preschool field trip and every kid got to catch a fish. Jared had taken her long before so she was well prepared, many of the other girls cried at the sight of their fish. She lifted her pole out of the water and the fish fell off the hook. There it was flapping around on the dock while all the other kids screamed and squealed. Linsey wasted no time and tackled that fish, catching it with her bare hands before it could flap back into the water. What a girl!

Emma feels a little different about touching fish.

Hunter has been timid in the past years, but this year he decided it wasn't so bad.
We look forward to this outing every year. It's fun to see the kids make progress towards being the expert fishermen and fisherwomen their dad dreams the will want to be!

I totally understand where Emma's coming from on this one! They look like they had a great time! When do I get to go fishing?
Looks like so much fun! Great grandpa butler would be so proud. Good to see a little frank in your kids!
What a fun tradition! Ben loves taking Chloe fishing too and can't wait to do it more. That is so great that Linsey loves it and that she has no fear of the fish- I bet she makes her dad proud!
That is awesome! Good to see you startin' em' out young! We bought little 18-month Jack a Beta for this very reason!
Looks like a fun day at the pond!
That looks like so much fun. Dave has been taking the kids fishing at Brushy Creek here and Isabel and Quinn love it and beg to go, but Emmaline runs for her life when the fish come out of the water. Hehehe. It's fun to see all their different personalities emerge like that.
What a fun activity! I can't believe how daring Linsey is. My kids would be the crying, shrieking ones!
Hello from your Butler cousins in Utah! You're kids are so grown up and very good lookin :) We are looking forward to seeing you guys at the reunion in June!
Great pictures of your fun family tradition. You know me and my animal fears...I don't even like to watch the flopping fish, let alone touch it. Linsey really is brave.
