Announcing a name

Apparently Emma has been "announcing" a name for our baby. I've had a couple friends come to me and say that Emma has told them we are going to name him LITTLE FOOT. Really....

She does love the movie Land Before Time. The other night she asked to watch it and then offered to say the blessing at dinner. Her prayer went something like this:

"Heavenly Father, Please bless that I can watch my show tonight and when I ask daddy if I can watch my show, he will say yes and then I can watch my show.. please....."

Unfortunately, we don't have a name for the baby picked out quite yet, but I'm sure we'll come up with something. We've got a list going. The poor kid won't be called Little Foot, that's for sure.

Emma had told me Austin, which would be much more suitable than Little Foot. But, in all honestly, Little Foot is much better than Petree, or some of the other names from Land Before Time, so it COULD be worse... :) Good luck with narrowing down a name, that is tricky.

I am sure that Little Foot is related it Eyesha somewhere down the line so you're ok.

That is great. I can imagine James coming up with something like that. Especially considering the random names he gave his fish (Speedo, Guedo, & Nemo). He is also a big fan of The Land Before Time.

What a cute story. Jon, King of Nicknames, would say that Little Foot could be his indian name for Austin (or any other on the list).

I love Emma's prayer. What faith! :)

Are you sure you don't like Little Foot? After all, he would be the only one. He would never have to go by Little Foot M. My friend's daughter wanted to name her little brother Lemmy. I think it is really interesting that kids come up with non-names for their siblings. My sister's daughter wanted her brother to be named Long Beard the Bird and her brother thought Rockstar was just the ticket. Anyway, good luck choosing a real name.
