Happy Birthday Emma!

We've been celebrating for half of April, but last week Emma officially turned
7 years old.

Emma is so sweet and kind and imaginative.  She is such a joy to have in our family.  Emma LOVES dogs.  I think she was really hoping to get one for her birthday.  Luckily she was pretty excited about the bike we surprised her with instead.

The school play which Emma and Hunter both participated in (more on that later) was the very weekend of her birthday so we opted to have her party the weekend before.  She chose to have a dog themed party... it was perfect for our dog-loving girl.  Not only does Emma love dogs, but she spends most of her playtime crawling around on all fours barking like a dog.  She has such a realistic bark it confuses real dogs.  When she plays house with her friends, they all want to be the mom and she just wants to play the dog.

Emma helped design her invitations.  She drew the dog and I scanned it onto each invitation and used it in the decorating for her party.

Emma had all sorts of ideas for the activities and games for her party.  She painted a big dog for "pin the bone in the dog's mouth".

I think it turned out adorable!
Hunter helped paint a sign for our puppy school.
Jared was the headmaster of our puppy school.  Each of the puppies had to follow commands like "sit", "fetch", and "roll over".  Linsey and Hunter had puppy treats (skittles) that they threw out as rewards to the good little puppies.  It was so funny to see a room full of barking children.  I think Emma was in heaven!

My favorite game was one we called "Dog Feed".  I made each of the kids a personalized dog dish and filled it with dog food a.k.a. cocoa puffs.  They had 30 seconds to see how much they could eat and they had to eat it like a doggie.  It was hilarious!  They really got into it and let me know they were ready by barking like a wild pack of dogs.  When I said "GO", all you could hear was crunching.  So funny.

Once they finished, they all earned a dog collar/necklace.

We made dog puppets and played a few other games, then had pizza.  The pizza was a real hit as you can see.

Then we had cake!

It was such an adorable group of doggies... I mean children!
I love all the toothless smiles.
What a fun age.  Emma has a great group of friends and got such perfect gifts.  She was just plain giddy!

Happy Birthday Emma!
We Love You!
Woof, Woof!

This is one of the cutest bday parties I've seen in awhile, it looks like all of the kids have a great time getting into the theme! Happy #7 Emma...although I can hardly believe she is seven already!

I've been waiting to see these pictures. What a cute party and so very perfect for Emma! Love the cake and such fun games, too. I'm so thankful you were willing to reenact the whole thing again for Natalie's sake.

Happy Birthday to Emma!

What a fun party! Carson was bummed to miss it, thanks for bringing over the dish of "dog food." The kids thought that was great!
