Holiday Fun!

We were able to visit lots of family over Christmas and New Years. We had a great time and I took plenty of pictures so I thought I'd share some of the highlights.

Here the kids are on Christmas Eve acting out the nativity scene. Linsey was an angel, Hunter was Joseph, Emma was Mary, and cousin Oliva got to be the baby Jesus.

Uncle Zack thought it might be FUN to tape Hunter to the wall. It was.

Santa brought lots of great gifts, but I think most of the entertainment came from playing with all of the uncles.
Uncle Mike became a bull giving the kids the ride of their lives.

Emma decided that the dog, Annie was the perfect seat for her.
Thankfully, Annie didn't seem to mind.
We visited my family New Years Eve. After a giant nerf gun war, my brother broke out a nerf toy that would shoot discs into the air with a velcro type fabric that the nerf darts stick too. You can see in the picture that everyone young and old took on the challenge quite seriously.
If you didn't notice in the background of the prior picture, the girls were sitting in the middle of all the action, uninterested in the guns, but having a great time playing polly pockets.
No one was safe the entire 2 days we stayed. I think my parents will be finding nerf darts til next Christmas.
We all had fun sending off a homemade hot air balloon. It was built with straws, candles, and a trash bag.
You can see the outline of straws with the candles saudered by candle wax. To get ready for take off my brother is lighting them one by one..... oh the excitement!

Almost ready for takeoff.

going, going....

gone.

The last highlight was feeding an enormous amount of ducks and geese down by the Columbia River. I couldn't believe how tame they were.

Hunter would tear off a small piece of bread and with one hand he would hold the morsel out for the geese, then with the other hand he would hold the remainder of the bread high in the sky in hopes that one hungry goose wouldn't snatch the entire thing.

The holidays are fun, but it's nice to be home and back into a normal routine. Now I'm just trying to get caught up. Does that ever really happen??

Camille,
It sounds like you guys had a great time over the holidays. I like your family pictures!
I just scrolled down to read about the infection in Emma's neck. We are experiencing that even as we speak. We are not in the hospital (thankgoodness) but just trying to zap it with antibiotics at home. We were lucky because it had not hardened and so was still pretty open for the oral antibiotics. I appreicate your info--it has been helpful for us.

Have a great day!

What a fun holiday. I can't believe you guys really had nerf wars in the house! I have never heard of a homemade hotair balloon. That is cool. I need to have you tell me what they did to make and sent it off.

I'm glad your holidays were great. I love that picture of Hunter taped to the wall. We may need to try that with a couple of our kids.

I'll always be grateful for all the help you guys gave us in the middle of all your holiday fun. Thanks again for your support and sympathies.

Lot's like you had lots of fun! The homemade hotair balloons looked really neat.

I think I have been playing catch up for 9 years now, so it never really happens, but we can at least say we are trying to.

You have such a fun family!

I loved the picture of the geese. It reminds me of when we used to live in Austin and Baby Steven and I would feed the geese at our friends' apartment complex.

I can't believe that you guys had any paint left on your wall after that duct-tape picture of Hunter! Spencer loved that pic. He was asking about Hunter today and wanting him to come to play some time soon, so I logged onto your blog for him! Looks like you've been keeping busy and having fun as usual! Great family pics also, who took em? Enjoyed your blog!
