Finally, Summer is here!

The weather has been so warm and nice, but until school is officially out, it just doesn't seem like Summer time.

Good bye teachers, Good bye homework, hello SUMMER!

We started off the Summer fun Saturday at Alkai Beach.

Jared's brother Zack has these cool inflatable kayaks that provided lots of fun for the cousins. Even the little ones got rides.

Jared took the older kids out on the water . I think Hunter is in his lap here, even though you can't see him from this angle. I thought this pictures was funny because if you look closely you can see that Annie, the dog, is swimming right next to them.

My kids always love to play in the sand and water, no matter what the temperature. It's endless hours of fun.

The water was pretty cold. You can see the concern on Emma's face as she runs from it, just getting enough water in her pail for the hole she dug and out of it's way before the wave hits.

Linsey collected shells, rocks, and yes, that is a fish carcass she is showing off in this picture. I thought girls were supposed to pick flowers... fish heads?? Gross.

The only thing that could make the beach more fun than it already is are the cousins and Grandma and Grandpa!

Hunter and Dylan

Grandma Jeanne and Linsey

Baby Austin

Emma and Brody

and this is the dog cousin... Annie.

Can't wait for the rest of Summer! The FUN has begun!

Another Incredible

Jared emailed Austin's birth announcement to some co-workers.

One of them sent it back saying this is what he had REALLY expected to see.

I thought it was hilarious! ....speaking of hilarious, check out this video clip.

Holiday

Linsey woke up Saturday morning and said, "It almost feels like today is a holiday, we could call it the Linsey day!"

We started off the day bright and early with a 9 am soccer game, the last game of the season.

Later that afternoon Linsey went to a baptism for one of her friends. Grandma Butler arrived Saturday afternoon special to attend Linsey's piano recital. Hunter was excited to show Grandma that he still remembered a song she taught him.

Even Emma got to learn a song this time.

Linsey was spoiled with attention, Grandma Jeanne and Papa also came to her recital. She played her song perfectly and wasn't even nervous. She sat down afterwards and said, "That was FUN!"
We left the recital early and dashed off to Linsey soccer awards banquet where the girls received their trophies and signed each others balls. Linsey has had great coaches and a fun group of girls that have stuck together for a few seasons. It really has been a whole lot of fun!

Holiday or not, Saturday was great!

Oh what do you do in the Summertime

We've been loving this warm weather! It's been so nice and sunny these past several weeks. The kids have been outside playing in the sprinkler, eating popsicles, and playing with friends everyday after school.

This was just too cute. Jared had flipped our picnic table upside down while he was mowing the lawn. Who would have known that an upside picnic table could provide so much fun. I looked out back and all the kids were sitting like this.

Apparently, they were all in a space ship and every little toy or item had a function. The orange ball was to protect them from meteors, the dirt was the oil which was needed to run the space ship. The shovels and sand toys were their supplies. They had buckets for gasoline, garbage, and recycle. The red bucket and tube were their computer. It kept them entertained all evening. They even had a pet caterpillar (on Linsey's arm) named Buddy. Every time I checked on them, they had added more to their space ship, I just love their creativity.

Hope you are all enjoying nice weather too.
