Slime

The other day I found a fun recipe for slime. It seemed like the perfect activity to entertain my kids and their cousins.

The main ingredients are water, glue, and borax. We used two different types of glue. The girls made theirs with clear glue and Hunter and Zach made theirs with white glue, both used the same amount of water but the consistency was quite different. Braydon and Gavin tried a third batch, using white glue and less water. Their slime was much less runny. I think my favorite of the three was the batch the girls made.

Everyone loved it and it was entertaining for a lot longer than I expected. I thought it was interesting to see the how differently the kids played with their slime.

Here are the girls, nicely squishing and molding their oeey goeey balls of goo.

Braydon and Gavin weren't sure if they really wanted to touch theirs, they carefully stirred it with a spoon.
It didn't take long before I discovered that these boys would do better playing with their slime outside. (It also didn't help that they had the runny batch.)

Even little Austin got in on the excitement, like it or not.

It was lots of fun, the kids played with it all weekend long. I think we worked out all the quirks to make the recipe turn out just right.

I have plenty of Borax so if you want to try this, don't go out and buy it, get some from me.
