Camp Zarahemla is one of our favorite camping spots, and it's always fun to camp with great friends!
The kids were constantly setting little traps to catch squirrels, birds (above) and bees (below).
We spent hours visiting and watching the kids play. It was the perfect way to finish off a really great summer.
The kids got busy preparing skits and silly stuff for our annual camping talent show.
Austin told some jokes and showed us his dance moves.
Emma and her friends did a super silly skit.
Actually... they did two skits, those girls and their sillies.
The big girls have gotten more creative and talented with age. They came up with a really darling dance to a favorite song. We were quite impressed!
We couldn't let our kids show us up so we planned a skit of our own. We sang a song from the Little Mermaid, "Kiss the Girl." Our goal was to embarrass the kids and make them squirm.
It. Was. Hilarious.
"There you see her,
sitting there across the camp.."
"You really wanna lay one on her,
it must be moist and damp.
She comes out of the cabin,
You wanna do some grabbin'
Go on and KISS da girl."
Of course we went on with the sha la la la la don't be shy chorus and every time we said "kiss da girl", we kissed again and again. But after the first kiss all the kids were squealing and the older boys actually got up and ran off, we were laughing so hard we could barely finish our act. Actually, as soon as the music started and Hunter realized what the song was, he figured out what was happening and yelled, "They're going to KISS!"
