McInelly Family Reunion

Rockaway Beach, Oregon

It's a beautiful place, we just couldn't get enough of the beach!

We played, and played, and played!

We enjoyed the beach from morning til night, but we also had fun at the VRBO house we stayed in.

The kids loved this adorable Hobbit house to play in.  Emma and her girl cousins begged to sleep in it.

Oh man, this hot tub was a giant HIT!  I never imagined our kids would enjoy it as much and for as long as they did.  By the time we left, there was a layer of sand across the bottom and on the bench.  Oops.

The house was actually a duplex.  We rented both sides, each side had a garage that was converted into an arcade complete with arcade games, ping pong tables, air hockey and even black lights for a party-like atmosphere.  The older boys opted to sleep in the arcade.  I'm not sure how much sleep they got, but they sure had FUN!

Another favorite thing the boys did was leaving coins out on the train tracks to get smashed.  They did this every day, sometimes multiple times a day.

Little Kate loved Milo.  We had a permanent dog sitter!

Non-stop FUN from morning til night!

Lucky Linsey got to celebrate her 16th birthday with all her McInelly cousins!

That's a whole lot of LOVE!

We sure love Linsey and couldn't be more proud of the beautiful girl she is, inside and out!

Monday was the 4th of July!  Rockaway Beach actually had a lot of really fun events going on for the holiday!

We started off by going to the parade.

The younger children got to hunt for money on the beach!  So fun!!

They had all sorts of races for cash prizes!

Linsey and Hunter placed in their age groups wheelbarrow race and won $12.00!

It took some convincing to get Emma to race the mile.  She was hesitant because it was actually for girls ages 15-18, but the cash prize, plus a little extra bribing $ from her uncle and dad sweetened the pot just enough for her to make a last minute decision to run.

It's a good thing she did, it was totally worth it when she got second place which meant $30 from the race, and then a couple $20's from her uncle and dad!  Not bad for an 11 year old!

That night we roasted hot dogs on the beach and set off fireworks.  It was a perfect day!

The next day, we checked out the Tilamook cheese factory, the ice cream at the end is always the best part!

One of our favorite beaches in this area is Ecola Beach.  It's a bit of a walk/hike, but totally worth it!

Can't wait til next time!
